Lena Dive Wreck

The Lena Dive Wreck, situated 3 kilometres off the coast of Bunbury’s Back Beach, is home to a fascinating variety of marine life.

The Lena was apprehended by the Australian Navy in 2002 while illegally fishing for Patagonian Toothfish. The boat was subsequently sunk offshore.

The dive wreck sits in 18 metres of water. She makes a unique dive, with massive swim throughs and an open engine room, with motors still in sight.

Our divers often see…

  • Baldchin Groper
  • Samson Fish
  • Wobbegong and Port Jackson sharks
  • Stingrays
  • Skippy
  • Leatherjackets
  • Flathead
  • Cuttlelfish & Squid
  • Bonito
  • Dhufish
  • Snapper and
  • Dozens of varieties of small reef fish which are perfect for photography.

All of this is in less than 20 meters of water which makes it ideal for all open water certified scuba divers. A number of Bunbury and Perth based tour operators offer dives on the Lena, including Octopus Garden Dive Charters.
