Galleries & Artisans

Art aficionados – uncover the breadth and depth of the BunGeo’s art scene, from touring exhibitions to local creative talent. With stunning hills and sea surroundings, what artist wouldn’t be inspired!

Enjoy the pleasure of discovering art around every corner during a trip to the BunGeo. Our artist hide in the hills, valleys and small coastal communities of the region. Step into the art zone by visiting small independent galleries and artist-run spaces and soon you’ll be chatting to the makers and getting the inside story on the local burgeoning arts scene.

Challenge your inner creative self by taking one of the many workshops, or classes throughout the area. We guarantee you won’t feel like just an observer and you will instantly feel part of the thriving artistic zone.

BUNBURY REGIONAL ART GALLERY (BRAG)

Housed in a very distinct pink convent, BRAG is home to the largest collection of public art in Western Australia. The South West’s premier art gallery also presents a dynamic and ever changing roster of exhibitions by local artists, as well cutting edge touring exhibitions from around the country.  With six different gallery spaces, BRAG is able to present a wide range of exhibitions, ensuring there is always something for everyone to get excited about.

The exhibition programming has strong regional significance and national relevance, as well as being housed inside one of Bunbury’s oldest historic buildings.  The (Insta-loving) pink, former convent is a treat in itself, and many traces of its past lives can still be seen as you wander through the spaces. It’s an experience that truly transports you.

COLLIE ART GALLERY

Small but impressive, this is an art gallery that kicks beyond its weight. The Collie Art Gallery opened in 2015 and was the first fit-for-purpose A-class gallery to be built in Western Australia since the Art Gallery of WA was opened in 1979.

Through a passionate team and local support, it showcases a diverse and impressive exhibition program – think Arthur Boyd, the Janet Holmes a Court collection, and the Life Story of Ann Frank.

It also provides regional Australia’s richest art prize – The Collie Art Prize (CAP) – a cool $50K is on offer for talented artists.

LITTLE ART GALLERY BOYUP BROOK

Art with Heart! Housed in the beautiful Boyup Brook Visitor Centre, the Little Art Gallery displays a diverse range of unique, original artworks by local artists which are also available for purchase.

DONNYBROOK ARTISANS

An artist hub in Donnybrook’s town centre, Donnybrook Artisans showcases, exhibits and sells the diverse range of art and craft produced by members of region. If you’re looking for hand made, colourful, one of a kind, locally designed gifts then pop in and take a look at what’s in store.
